Madalen Erez
Photojournalist, wildlife enthusiast, community photographer, and presenter
Photography motivates me to learn and do more. I use photography to uplift my community and to highlight those who deserve a voice.
As editor-in-chief of my school’s newspaper, I captured pep rallies, dances, protests, stage plays, and sports games.
FSPA challenged me as a photographer. Last year, I won first place in Animal Photography and in On the Spot Portrait Photography.
As an official staff photographer for the Parkland chapter of March for our Lives, I documented their mission to end the gun violence epidemic.
I delivered a workshop on photography and “Learning to Break the Rules” to students and advisors for FSPA District 7. I was asked to take workshop to other schools.
I was one of five nationally to be recognized by the James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists.
I provide volunteer photography for a variety of organizations, including the Friendship Journey, and Apraxia Kids. Recently, I was contacted by First Responders Pack Inc., which helps place service dogs with First Responders and Veterans.
